I am a proud mother of two sons, one of which is a graduate of Penn State University. My younger son is a computer whiz and keeps me busy with soccer, basketball, track and a host of extracurricular activities. I enjoy spending time with my family and vacationing in relaxing spots near the beach with lots of sunshine.
I am the founder and CEO of Transcription, Etc., and have worked in the transcription industry for over fifteen years. I am an active volunteer with the Association of Health Documentation Integrity (AHDI) and have served as the chair of the Legal Issues Group as well as the Electronic Health Record Alliance committee. I currently serve as an At-Large Board of Director. I am also a Notary Public in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
What I enjoy most about Transcription, Etc. is that everything we do involves helping people. The patient’s health record or a legal transcript is one of the most important documents about an individual that is often overlooked or taken for granted. Having the opportunity to be a part of documentation that goes into permanent record is a high honor in my opinion. I also love the passion that I see from the people in the transcription industry and I am excited to be a part of it. I love working with our Transcription, Etc. team. I like the way they are willing to step up to the challenge to get the work done, making it easy to satisfy our customers!

My husband and I coach the drama club at the high school here in town. We have one son that has graduated this past year and moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to attend ITT Tech and our youngest son is a sophomore. My newest hobby is raising a Husky puppy! She is now 12 weeks old and keeps me pretty busy. This is actually the first time I have had a puppy in my adult life. I can’t wait until she gets bigger this winter as we are going to try snow shoeing with her. ?
I think being a transcriptionist is very interesting, and rewarding as I apply my knowledge as well as learn new things about different aspects of biology. I am also currently taking a course to become a Certified Medical Transcriptionist.
My favorite thing about working for Transcription, Etc. is the technology! The state of the art technology makes my job easy and enjoyable. I also love the flexibility in my job.

I am a proud mother of four sons, three beautiful daughter-in-laws and six grandchildren. From my six amazing grandchildren comes my favorite expression, “If I had known grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first!”
I was inspired to become a transcriptionist after losing my job working for a federally funded program for low-income families. Realizing that the benefits of becoming a medical transcriptionist outweighed the risks, I re-educated myself and soon came to work for Transcription, ETC.
I like working for Transcription, ETC, because the company is not afraid to take risks. They are also willing to hire new people into the field in order to give them a chance at gaining experience. They makes every effort to partner us with work, at our skill level, that is interesting and also continue to challenge our abilities. At the same time, Transcription, ETC, holds its transcriptionists to a higher level of integrity and performance in our work. I know many transcriptionists who have no idea what the industry standards are and who skate by on less than their best product. Transcription, ETC, gives its best to its workers and expects their best in return, and I, for one, am happy and blessed to be able to provide that.

I have a B.S. from the University of Buffalo in Business Management, and I also have a Certificate in Medical Transcription from M-TEC.
What I like about transcription is the fact that I learn something every day and I am challenged. I am so tired of jobs where I am bored out of my mind all day. What I like about Transcription, Etc. is that it is a very relaxed environment. I know what I have to do and I am trusted to get it done. Everyone is very nice, especially QA which has been super patient with me, and have given me great research tips and feedback. I love RxList.com!
As hobbies, I enjoy walking my dogs and playing with them. When I have time, I take them to the tennis courts and play ball. They love it, and then they get tired out so I can work! I also enjoy reading. In the past I have volunteered at the Humane Society and at my daughters Charter High School. Something interesting about me is my husband has a motorcycle and when we can, I ride on the back and we go to the beach. Everyone is always really surprised by this because I don’t seem like the motorcycle type.

I have had over 10 years of professional experience transcribing for the legal, corporate and investigative industries. I have had over 25 years of service to the printing and publications arena serving as desktop publisher, graphic designer and document compositor. “The skill of transcribing has always been fun for me ever since high school. What I love about transcription work is the spoken and written words as a medium for telling stories and it is very much like reading a book. My job enables me to combine two of my favorite things all in the comfort of my home, and all while producing an income.
I have worked with Transcription, Etc. for over five years and have loved every minute of it. This company provides me with a steady workflow and flexibility all at the same time. I feel appreciated working here. The work pace is comfortable and enables me to keep up with tennis and swimming, and to also spend time with my grandchildren. I also enjoy horseback riding, canoeing, and skiing, and I volunteer as a World Hope Missionary when time allows.

I have been involved in the legal profession for over 15 years, with 9 years as a court reporter. Prior to court reporting I worked for a law firm. I am a Certified Digital Court Reporter/Transcriber (CERT*D), certified through the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT). I also hold my notary for Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.
What I love about my job is that my days are varied; between covering depositions, trials, arbitrations and meetings, I never know what kind of story I will hear and what new words will be added to my vocabulary. It is much like my job is like going to the movies on a daily basis.
I enjoy a simple life; traveling the world and fine dining hit the top of my list (if you can consider that a simple life). I am a self-proclaimed foodie and I love to cook. I am also an animal lover and oftentimes have the pleasure of pet sitting for friends and people in my community that need to travel. I really enjoy nature and one of my favorite activities is to take a nice long walk, embracing the cool wind and all the wonderful sounds nature creates.

I am an AAERT certified electronic transcriber and I have been a transcriptionist since 1991. I am grateful to have been able to work from home while raising my three daughters. My previous work as a legal secretary made the transition to transcribing easy; and I appreciate the extreme flexibility I have in my job.
Cooking, especially baking, is my favorite hobby and I have a huge collection of cookbooks. I also enjoy travel and bicycling and watching my daughters dance and play lacrosse. My husband and I have been married for 29 years.

I have been in the medical transcription field for seven years. I hold an Associate’s degree for Medical Office. I love the flexibility and independence that being a transcriptionist brings. The thing that I like most is that my job is portable and I’m able to make my own hours.
In my spare time, I love to read fantasy, mystery and romance. I also enjoy scrapbooking and playing with my two cats Hannah and Hailey (they are spoiled like they are my children). I have been married for four years.

I became a transcriptionist in 2006 so that I could stay home with my two children and continue to work full time. My children are both in college now and no longer require my full attention, but I still enjoy the freedom of working from home.
I am currently enrolled in the Judicial Reporting program at Brown College of Court Reporting to become a Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR).
When I am not working or studying, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing word games, walking, Zumba, and cruising the Caribbean. Binge-watching complete television series on Netflix is my guilty pleasure.
